OpenClaw runs on Node.js with a plugin-based skill system. Skills are Markdown files with embedded shell scripts. It supports Claude via BYOK, uses a local SQLite database for memory, and communicates via Telegram Bot API or WhatsApp Business API.

Yes. You bring your own Claude API key from Anthropic. This means you pay Anthropic directly for the AI usage, and we charge only for the hosting infrastructure. You keep full control over your spending and model choice.

Your API key is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and only decrypted in-memory when OpenClaw makes requests. We never log, store, or transmit your key outside your droplet. You can rotate your key anytime from the dashboard.
